The Blu Razz-558 Randall Road, South Elgin-is one of the hottest night spots in the entire Fox Valley.

Top off any evening in style, step up to the beautiful bar, a mahogany toned rectangle that is in perfect keeping with the overall ambience of the Blu Razz, named for the wickedly wonderful blue raspberry martini made by Frank Morrone, who, along with his wife Siri, owns the warm, welcoming nightspot.
“We’re proud of what we’ve done here,” Frank Morrone said. “Things have been really, really great. Bottom line, our clientele is the primary reason for all the success we’ve had. It’s a growing business in a developing area.”
The Blu Razz which opened in November 2005, is as lavish as it is likable. And while it’s one of the best local places to see and be seen, there’s much more to the stylish restaurant and lounge than meets the eye. On Fridays and Saturdays, center chairs and tables are removed from the main floor at 10 p.m. Patrons then flock to an intimate dance floor.
Action at the full-service bar is generally loud and lively. For more subdued conversation, there are high backed booths in the main room. They offer a perfect place for a romantic meal or drink.
Everything is complemented by the cool, casual atmosphere at the Blu Razz, which includes a 500 –gallon saltwater fish tank in the lobby entrance.
From front to back, the Blu Razz is spacious and gracious. It’s also a place to gaze and graze. The thick, satisfying steaks are aged to perfection. The very best martinis-many of which are shaken, not stirred-have infinite possibilities. Ask any martini connoisseur about the drink’s significance. You’ll hear about how the deceptively simple martini remains an American symbol of elusive perfection.
Perfect is how most regulars describe the classic martini served at the Blu Razz. But for those who want a more exotic blend, there are any number to choose from, including the Godiva Chocolate Martini and a clever concoction called the Pineapple Upside Down Cake Martini.
Both are devilishly delicious.
Blu Razz has several special promotions, most of them ongoing. The price is relatively low; the quality of service is extremely high, which is nothing unusual at the Blu Razz.
The waitstaff works hard to make each visit a pleasant experience. Impeccably dressed young women are as quick with drink refill as they are with a friendly greeting.
Familiar names pop up on the desert list, including chocolate lava cake. Familiar or not, it’s to die for. And so is the Blu Razz. Ask anyone who has been there.
“It’s been our dream to own a place like this,” Frank Morrone said. ‘My wife and I are always here. Everyone loves Siri. She’s the face of Blu Razz.”
It’s quite a face.
And it’s quite a place.
